I’m sorry, I haven’t written you before, but I’ve been so busy, that I almost haven’t had time to write letters. I’ve rented a nice room, and my hostess; Mrs. Snyder is a very sweet person. New York is an amazing city, and there are so many things to see. Every day, I visit museums, art galleries and churches. As you know everything is big here. Many Americans think, that the words “bigger” and “better” mean the same thing. I’ve only been here one week, but already I know, that the head of The Statue of Liberty can hold 40 people, and its fingers are almost 3 meters long, and at the Rockefeller center has over 25.000 telephones.
I’m sure, that you will send me a postcard, and I would be happy, if you would send me one with a picture of a good, old English village. I hope you see what I mean.
Kind regards
Lucy
