She logs on a website to find old friends from high school. She finds a very special man on the website. The last person she would have thought would log on. Exactly the first man she was in love with in high school. The most inspiring person she has ever met. When she thinks of him, she sees him as the man she fell in love with. She describes him as a tall and skinny guy, with thick black hair and blue eyes. It seems like he was an inspiration and a leader to all their other students in high school. He had passionate dreams about moving to Ireland and becoming a poet. She describes how this man, Jed Cunningham, was the first boy ever who made her laugh, something she’d never expected before - a kind of wildness and irreverence. She also describes how much she loved him and how she wanted to marry him. Her relationship with Jed Cunningham is back in the high school and it was very complicated. They never really said to each other what they felt. Her relationship with Jed Cunningham lasted two years and she describes their relationship as an adult love affair among children without sex.
