Unrequited Love: A Poetic Reflection

I see you in my dreams

I see you everywhere

But you… you see nothing

I can feel my heart is beating

I can feel it when I see you

But you… you feel nothing

I think I love you

I think I’m foolish in love

But you… you don’t think

I know I have lost my heart

I know I have lost it to you

But you… you know nothing

I love you deeply and true

I love everything about you

But you… you don’t love me.

Will I find real love in this world? Will I find someone who loves me as I am?

I’m not sure where… my feelings are a mess.

I will find a place where I belong, even though the road is long.

I’m dreaming on dreams, wishing on wishes but I’m sure I’ll find a place where love is given and taken, a place where I will wake up every morning with no tears on my pillow, I believe in love I really do, and I can live again now when I have forgotten you.

I want you in my dreams

I will feel my heart beat again

I will feel it when I see you
