Skribentens beskrivelse af Essay Mark Slouk afleveringThe short story ”Crossing” is written by Mark Slouka in 2005 and the story is about the differences between a grown mans responsibilities and a child’s innocence. The story takes place in a city called Tacoma in Washington State, USA. The story is about a father who take his son young son out for a trip. The trip is a little bit special, because the mother and father is recently divorces and because of that the father fells guilty. But on the trip they set a tent up in and old barn, which is just a few meters from the river. The father and the son cross the river to explore the forest on the other side of the river. But later when the attempt to cross the river again, the river was too strong and the father fall while carrying the son, and they flowed with the current down the river a little bit. And the father seems not to have any way to the other side of the river. The short story ends with the father and son are trapped in the middle of the river, and they do not know if they will come to the other side of the river. |
