Skribentens beskrivelse af CrossingAt first I would like to tell something about the father. He is a carrying father, he cares for his son, we can tell by the fact that he takes him to a camping trip in the woods, and by the action he makes by taking the son on his back and carry him through the river, he is trying everything to save his son, and even though he knows they’re in a very bad situation he says to his son line 29 page 3 “ “That wasn’t good, but we’re fine.” even though “They weren’t fine”. The narrator leaves some clues that makes us think that he has done something wrong and been through some sort of depression, the text says “For some reason it made him happy, and he hadn’t been happy in a while” line 4 page 1. This tells us that he has not been happy for a while, we don’t know why. It is possible that he is becoming happy for the first time in a long time, is because he is on his way on a trip with his son. The narrator also leaves a clue about the father in line 34 page 3 “My God, all his other fuckups were just preparations for this”, this tells us that it is not the first time he had done something bad. Actually the text says “of all” it means that we are talking about many bad actions from the father. And maybe this could relate to the fact that he hasn’t been happy in a long time? Maybe his fuckups are related to his unhappiness?Lignende opgaver |
