It’s normal for fathers and sons that they go out for hunting, fishing or to fight against the nature to show the mothers that they can do anything. It’s even normal that fathers and sons show their skills to prove something. In this essay ‘’Crossing’’, by Mark Slouka we hear about a father and son relationship and a trip in the nature to bring the father and son closer to each other.
The text is about a man who is divorced. The man is going through a hard time. The man is going out with his son to get a better relationship with him and also to come closer to his son. The father takes his to a place where the man when he was a kid was with his father. The man had good experiences there with his father when he was a little boy. The father and son cross a river on their trip. The first day the river was small and foreseeable. The next day when the father and son go to cross the river, the river had changed. It was bigger and harder to get through. The father takes his son and go into the river to cross it, there was no way back. Even if the father knows that maybe they are going to die he still tells his son that everything is okay.
