Franz Ferdinands attentat i Sarajevo

Reason for the visit. - Duke(biskop) Franz Ferdinand took off from a meeting with the German emperor (kejser) Wilhelm 2. On his country home (landsted) to Sarajevo to see the ending of a royal manoeuvre. The visit should take place d. 28 July on the yearly Serbian defied to the ottoman empire. A date with symbol for many Serbs. The date itself was not thought as provocation for the Serbian people.

WarringAlready previously there have been ‘’trying assassinations’’ against Franz Joseph. The most of them were given up because of Franz’ age (50) . Bogdan was one young student in Serbia. He had in mind to kill Franz. But because of franz’ age he did not kill him instead he shot the Austrian -Ukrainian guvnor he did not kill the guvnor he shot in the leg and after the shooting Bogdan killed himself. Bogdan was a role model for Princip ‘’ I swear I shall avenge him.’’ Before the meeting in Bosnia Franz got warring’s but none of them were so specific than Franz was willing to cancel the visit. He said ‘’we are always in danger. You shall just trust God.’’ Schedule and the road was announced weeks before his arriving maybe to lure onlookers.
