“… I hear myself screaming… My voice sounds rusty, like a broken machine that’s been lying around too long. What other girl?” is an emotional outcry of a young girl, whose heart was just broken. The young girl, who is also a protagonist just found out, that the person, she trusted mostly to, lied to her all that time she knew him. She doesn’t get any help from her parents, and she was left alone in this huge, cold and rough world. The only one person, who loved her, betrayed her and now she is in shock. There are many people in the world, whose parents don’t care about their child, and that creates many bad and different consequences, as is very much the case of Batya Swoft Yasgur’s story…

The story is probably set in the America, it can be concluded from the fact, that there is a hummingbird in the story, and this little bird is only living in the America. There is also a teacher called principal, this word is also coming from the America.

The story tells us about the life of a young girl, who has had a big relationship with the adult man called Mr. Harry. Mr. Harry was her teacher for a short moment, but he was arrested by the police, because he “touched” her, what also could mean, sexually abused her. The girl, who did never got an attention and love from her parents, was very glad to meet a person, who truly cared and loved her for the first time. She was so happy, that she even stopped doing her bad habits, as smoking and being boorish, indifferent girl. She was so glad to be with Mr. Harry, that she had nothing against being sexually abused by him. But in one day, Mr. Harry was arrest by the police, and after that the girl turned away from the world, returned to all of her bad habits, and chose to be silent, whenever where would happened with her. The story is first narrative, as the author uses it, to make the story more personal, and feelings full. We reveal the story through the narrator’s eyes and feelings, and therefore the story gets very personal. Such as at the end of the story, the main character was completely shocked: “My hand, holding the phone receiver, turns to ice. I’m afraid I’m going to throw up. And when I hear myself screaming…” The story is chronologically structured, and it doesn’t have flash forwards, but it has some small flash backs, when the protagonist comes back in her memories about the time with Mr. Harry. For example: “Until Mr. Harry. Homework times went by so fast with him. I never even thought of TV when I was over at his house…”
