Another thing is that if you’re shy or afraid to ask someone out, it is a lot easier to ask someone over the internet, because you’re more confident over the phone.
The cons about internet dating are that you cannot be sure about who you’re chatting with, when you haven’t met the person in real life, so it’s a good idea to meet quickly, so you don’t waste months waiting to meet, and then get totally disappointed when you see who shows up. If you’ve been writing for months and have told each other a lot of things, it can be awkward the first time you meet, because you’re not sure what to say to the other person, because you don’t want to ruin anything between you.
