Talent shows are a widespread trend on TV. It brings a lot of people together on the couch in the living room, discussing who will win and who to vote for. But yet, do those in front of the screens know how it is for people who stand up there on the scene? What drives them to sign up? Well, here is what I think on that matter.
Often young people look for easy way to get money. Probably the first thought – fame. It can come from participation on TV-shows, those you can audition for pretty easily, a.k.a. – talent shows. The producers often choose to tell about the participant’s backstage life. The fame in this case can come from an extraordinary life story or personality, or the reason why they stood up. Maybe you get to know that «this is the dream of my life» or «I’ll spend the money on *insert charity/treatment for a relative* if I win». Those phrases automatically create sympathy.
The story behind is not always shown, though. So, what else can bring those, often young, people fame?
A no-brainer – actual talent. People who stand up while actually being good at what they present to the audience. Their auditions come on YouTube with many thousands views, they possibly get fans and so on. The ultimate thing here is if they get contacted by a producer, entertainment company or someone who would like to be their manager or stuff like that, I am not exactly an expert when it comes to this.
