A talent show is a show, where people are competing about having the biggest talent. It can be singers, dancers, magicians or whatever people feel their talent is. To get in the competition, you have to make an audition. For each program the best talents will be selected. And in the end, the best will stand alone. Sometimes there is an age limit and it is often 15 years old. But it is only, if it is a singer competition.
In Denmark we have two big talent shows called “Talent” and “X-factor”. “Talent” is for everyone who thinks they have a talent and would like to show it, and “X-factor” is only for the singers. The talents are very different. Someone attends because they think they can sing or have a talent, and other people attend because they think it could be fun or because they have participated in a bet.
The good thing about talent shows is that they might become famous in the future and maybe the singers will get the chance to publish an album. I have heard a bunch of songs in the radio, which is written by the winners of these talent shows. On the other side, some winner’s careers stop right after the talent shows.
