Facebook or Fakebook

Facebook is a social online network, which is very popular all over the world. The side had about 250 million unique users in February 2010. In 2012 there were more than a billion users on the popular site, so today there must be way more different users. On Facebook you can make a user and then you can become friends with other people who also have a user. You can chat privately with your friends, and post pictures that you can share with all you friends. Another thing you can do is make a status which your friends also can see, like and comment on. Facebook is also used as making different pages there can for example be anything from fan pages to hate pages. Facebook can unfortunately also be negative. As I wrote before, there are pages which is about hate to another person… These pages are terrible and a lot of people get hurt because of them. There are actually more negative things about Facebook. Some people are frauds, and they can steal your money if you aren’t careful. The way they can do it is for example to make an advert where they have a good offer that might be hard to say no to, and then you write some personal facts about yourself and your card number, and after that you might lose a lot of money, so be careful! I do have a Facebook user and I have never experienced fraud or known someone who have got tricked on Facebook, so it is not only negative things you experience on the network Facebook. I think there are more positive than negative things. You get new friends, share status or pictures with whoever you want to and get in contact with you friends. You can also read your friends status and in that way you can follow their lives. If you are fan of some celebrities with a profile on Facebook you can follow their lives too if you want that. That is a good way to find out if the gossip you hear about him or her is true or not. Well, that was a lot about Facebook, but another social network that have big influence on mostly younger people is instagram. Instagram and Facebook is a little bit alike. The biggest difference is that it is only pictures and videos you can post on Instagram, you can also like and comment as you can on Facebook. On this network Instagram, you can follow your friends or other people you think post nice pictures.You can make your profile totally private so only the people you allow can see what you post. Of course can you also share your profile with everyone. In that way you get more followers and to some people that is important. On Instagram you don’t have to be afraid of fraud because there are no adverts which can “steal” money from you. I think that Instagram is better than Facebook, not only because it is more safe but also because pictures are more interesting. Fake users can occur on these online networks so it isn’t good to share too much of yourself, you can never know for sure what people in the other end want from you. Some strangers also stalk people and that can be frightening if it becomes too much… We have to be careful on the internet I guess especially with strangers…
