I have read these four texts “Everyone must be an organ donor unless they opt out, says Chief Medical Officer”, which is an article written by Nigel Hawkes. It is from The Times’ website, July 18, 2007.

“The Solvable Problem of Organ Shortages” is an article written by Jane. E. Brody, taken from The New York Times’ website, August 28, 2007.

“Psst, wanna buy a kidney?” which is an editorial from The Economist’s website, November 16, 2006.

And last but not list “Dutch TV’s Kidney-Shaped Hoax”, which is an article written by Joost Van Egmond, published in Time, June 1, 2007.

In all those text I will discuss and talk about the issues of organ donations. I will also focus on the solution which is presented in the texts.

In all those texts the main issue is the need of organ donors. It says that all the unhealthy lives we are living are apparently leading to more people in need of organ donation. Many people are thinking about our want to donate their organs, few sign up for being an organ donor.

The first text put focuses on how the governments have a big part of the issue. There is many European countries how use the opt-in system. That is a system where you have to sign up for being an organ donor, whilst the Chief Medical Officer says they should use an opt-out system, which is also used in Spain. The opt-out system works, by the fact that you have to sign up for not being an organ donor, if you don’t want to be an organ donor.
