The text is about this hobo from New York City called Marco Fogg. He is marked by nervousness in the light of one alternative, which is to get night’s sleep in the gutter. Then he gets a thought of sleeping in the Central Park. after surviving the first night he tells himself If he had done it once, he could easily get another night.
As he tells in the text, no one would look weird at you for sleeping in the park, singing out loud, sitting under a tree doing nothing.
After receiving a lot of food and money from nice people without ever asking for anything he came to the conclusion that all those nice things only happened when he didn’t wish for it
He soon learned that when people had picnics or such in the park, they usually had a lot of spare foods they would throw out afterwards and this was a huge benefit for Marco Fogg. He’s really trying to get his head away from the thought of eating other people’s leftover. Fogg was very embarrassed about the entire situation though.
Despite of this terrible situation, Mrco had some nice experiences with random people. It was difficult for him to keep his positive thoughts intact. So he remembers one incident where he snarled so bad a kid, that he burst into tears.
