Homelessness in 'The Pursuit of HappYness'

The movie the Pursuit of HappYness is coming out in cinemas next week.

Will Smith plays the leading part in the new movie the Pursuit of HappYness, which is about a man called Chris Gardner who lives with his wife Linda and his five year old son Christopher. Chris has made a type of scanner that doctors can use for surgery, but they seem to be too expensive for doctors to make a profit out of it, so while Chris is working on getting his scanners sold, Linda has to take double shifts, and work over time. She is unhappy and leaves Chris and Christopher. Chris takes a job at a brokerage firm to become a stockbroker, the downside is, he will not get paid for half a year and furthermore he is not ensured a job. Throughout the movie, Chris keeps trying to avoid the impossible, becoming homeless.

Depending on people to work.

Chris’s story is a common one; it is hard to keep a constant financial awareness and it is easy to lose your job and suddenly end up on the street.

Homelessness is a very important issue, because our society depends on people to work and make money and keep the balance up. If nobody was working our society would break down.
