Early Life, Background knowledgeGeorge Washington was born February 22nd, 1732 in Virginia at his family’s plantation. He was the oldest out of six children. When he was just 11 years old his father passed away. George was talented in mathematics and after school he became a surveyor. He had always had a thing for military and the army and wanted to be in the army when he got older.
His Journey to become a presidentHe was made commander of Virginia’s Military in 1752 at the age of 20, and when he became 21, he was the commander of Virginia’s Military forces. This also shows that he was a good and successful military man since he could become such a high rank in the army at that point in his life. He worked hard to come to that point in his time in the army. He led many wars when he was commander and he won many of them and helped USA in general rise and become the USA we know today.
His years as the first presidentGeorge Washington was the first President of the united states. He became president in 1789 to 1797. George Washington is one of the most popular presidents of USA. Today he is known as “Father of his Country” to many people, because of the things he did. As I said before George was in the military. He fought for his country and if it got destroyed, he would go down with it. That’s why he is called “Father of his Country” because of his role in the revolutionary war and his fight for American independence. That’s also why he is on mount Rushmore.
