I choose this topic because I thought it sounded really interesting. I’ve heard a lot about the KKK, but I didn’t really know what they were all about.

But a man called Jacob Holdt made a presentation, about the clan, and I just wonder why anyone can be so full of hate and anger that they are ready to kill people just because of their skin has another color than white.

You can also relate KKK to a movie I have watched, which is called Mississippi Burning. Mississippi Burning is a movie that’s based on true incidents. It is about the segregation and racism in the Southern States and a great example of KKK’ racist actions. The film also inspired me to learn more about the Ku Klux Klan.

In my presentation, I’m gonna talk about the KKK symbols and actions, why the KKK was founded, what the KKK was known for and the clan today.

The KKK, their symbols and actions

Burning crosses

Hanging blacks - lynching

Hate and violence

The Ku Klux Klan was a clan, which focused on white supremacy(Sypørmisi), and in order to that, they killed black people. They will also burn crosses, which was a way of illuminating that god was on their side. The clan will often torture black people, or just straight up break into their homes, grab someone and, hang them outside in a tree, and just let them hang there, until someone would remove them, it’s also called lynching.
