Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. His real name was Michael but he changed it. He had left Stockbridge for Atlanta at the age of sixteen, with nothing but a sixth-grade education and a pair of shoes.
In Atlanta he worked and studied, and slowly developed a reputation as a preacher. While preaching at two small churches outside of Atlanta it was here he meet his feature wife.
Martin Luther King dreamt that all inhabitants of the United States would be judged by their personal qualities and not by the color of their skin.
What did he achieve?
In 1964 he received the Peace Prize for his nonviolent campaign against racism.
At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
(march on Washington)
In 1963, 250,000 demonstrators marched to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, where King gave his famous "I have a dream" speech for jobs and freedom.
His way of thinking:
I think that his way of thinking was amazing because he didn’t judge anyone and that is a very nice thing to own. And then the way off running his campaign non violent is a perfect example off why he got the Nobel peace price. He showed the world that violent wasn’t the way to success.
