I have chosen the Martin Luther King, because his speech is world-renowned. and because I want to learn a little about his autobiography. I choose it also, because he has won the Nobel Prize in 1964.

Martin Luther King. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. King, a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist, had a seismic impact on race relations in the United States, beginning in the mid-1950s. Among his many efforts, King headed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Through his activism and inspirational speeches, he played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the United States, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors. He was assassinated in April 1968, and continues to be remembered as one of the most influential and inspirational African-American leaders in history.

On the 1st of December 1955, Rosa Parks – an African American woman – refused to give up her seat to a white man in a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. She was arrested for violating the city's segregation law and, therefore, civil rights activists formed the Montgomery Improvement Association to boycott the public transport system. The Association chose Martin Luther King, Jr., who had recently moved into town to work as a church minister, as their leader. One year and a few weeks later, the city's buses were desegregated.
