In a speech from 2013 Michelle Obama once said ‘’the person with the biggest impact on your education is you. It’s that simple’’. She said that at an education event with DC High School Sophomores, as the numbers of graduates in the US have fallen dramatically since the last generation. The speech was aimed at the school’s students and students over the rest of U.S.A. We can also hear that the receivers of this speech are young students as her language is close to daily talk. The speech was made as a part of a bigger answer to the crucial matter regarding the fall of graduates in the US. Michelle Obama has been chosen to try to be a part of the solution as she is a person with an upright public image, further more she knows much about the subject as she has been through a tough education herself.

Moreover she has quite a story to tell the students as she has had a rough time in her own school period. She has always dreamt about a good education followed by a plum job but her parents didn’t have a lot of money, as they never went to collage themselves. The fact that they didn’t go to collage didn’t mean that they didn’t believe in education. The parents always pushed her to do whatever it took to succeed in school. In spite of her family’s financial disadvantage Michelle made it through high school to find her self admitted on Princeton later on. Because of that Michelle Obama is almost famous for having fought her way through the education system in spite of her financial disadvantages. Based on her story it is easy to see why this woman was chosen because what Michelle Obama represents is just what the students need. They need a strong-headed person as an example who wasn’t born in wealth but fought all the way from the bottom to the top. Just like Michelle Obama. Having that said we can see that this speech was made to inspire young students.
