Summary
Michelle Obama’s speech “Remarks by the First Lady at City College of New York Commencement” (June 03, 2016) is about the students’ diversity and hard work. Michelle Obama celebrates their diversity and different cultures. The students at the New York City College represent over one hundred and fifty different countries and cultures. She acknowledges their hard work as students who come from working class families. Furthermore, she shares her own story which is very easy to compare with most of the students at the City College. She wants the graduates to enjoy the liberties and pursue their own version of freedom. Last but not least Ms. Obama empathizes a lot throughout her speech that it is very important to give out a helping hand to others.

Michelle Obama’s speech “Remarks by the First Lady at City College of New York Commencement” (June 03, 2016) deals with the celebration of the class of 2016 where she applauds them for their hard work and dedication to achieve success. In addition, the speech deals with being from different nationalities and cultures and how the students with their success have an obligation to share their wisdom and help others. Ms. Obama’s intention with this speech is to share some of her core values as a democrat and convince others that they are the right values.
