First lady: Michelle Obama - Remarks by the First Lady at Education Event with DC High School Sophomores
“The person with the biggest impact on your education is you.” These words came from Michelle Obama. Students are told that the biggest effect on their education is not their parents, the friends, or the teachers. It is the students themselves, it is up to them what they want to achieve with their education. Students choose what they want, and no one should influence it, or stop it for following their dreams. In this speech the first lady, which is Michelle Obama, she turns to have a conversation between her and the students, she says “I also believe that this conversation — it’s got to be a two-way conversation.” Michelle Obama wants students to know that their inmate is very important when it comes to their education.
The speech was held by the first lady Michelle Obama, in the DC Senior high school as a great educational event for the sophomores, which means that she is the sender of the speech. Michelle Obama makes her factors and opinions more convincing and reliable, and because of that there is a lot of ethos. Michelle Obama is a credible sender, this is expressed as she appears trustworthy to the recipients who are the students. She shows that she is an indeed interested in the student, and that she will fight for each, and every one of them so they one day achieve their goals as she achieved her own goals. She attaches great importance to listening to students' stories beyond just talking to them, she is willing to help and listen to what they have to say. Michelle Obama wishes students the best, which is why she puts a hand over them and helps so much.
