My life differs in lots of ways compared to the typical Amish lifestyle, but in a way is still quite similar, if you really think about it. We are all humans and have necessities in life, like food and water, the only difference being that I consume way unhealthier things than normal Amish people do, like burgers, pizzas, sweets and soda. However, some Amish communities are also allowed to eat the same unhealthy diet that I eat, but they usually tend to eat a lot healthier than I do, since they typically grow their own organic food in their gardens.
We also have the same behavioural traits, since our anatomy is almost the same and only have minuscule differences that characterises our personality. In other words, we all just want to love, and be loved by one another.
It also means that our behaviour is quite similar and that again means that we all just want to be entertained in one way or another, but since Amish people aren’t allowed to use modern technology to entertain themselves, means that our way of entertainment is entirely different. I typically use my phone to entertain myself when I am bored, however, Amish people aren’t allowed to do that since they follow the Amish law, also known as Ordnung, which bans the use of modern technology. That means that Amish kids usually entertain themselves the old-fashioned way by playing outside, but I also go outside to entertain myself ones in a while, which proves that our life isn’t that different after all.
