The Amish church is one of many branches of the tree of Christianity. There is no consensus on exactly where the Amish fit within Christianity. They are known for their simple ways and simple clothing. Such as they are really resistant to modern technology and make their own clothes out of scratch. The Amish Movement was established in the late 17th century, as groups within Switzerland and Southern Germany. But in the early 18th century many Amish started to emigrated to the United States of America. Where freedom of religion was in place and it was safe to practice their beliefs. The Amish live in many states in the U.S such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New York, Maine, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and many more. But they mostly live in Pennsylvania, hence the nickname "Amish country".

Because of their need to uphold traditions, they still continue to speak Pennsylvania Dutch as their ancestors did. To be honest its sounds weird. It’s a Swiss German dialect. They try to avoid many of the features of modern society and isolate themselves from American culture. I consider them conservative Protestants. The Amish community is a really close, and everybody knows everybody. In a typical Amish family the father would do farm work, like milk the cows, work in the fields and do the carpentering. The mother would do daytime household duties ironing, washing dishes by hand, baking, and cooking lunch and dinner. The children would also do choirs after school to help their parents. The children are only obligated to go to school until the eighth grade. After that it’s up to them or their parents to pursue a higher education.
