The Amish is a group of Christians. The Amish live like we did in the old days, without any electricity, smart tools or cars, which makes life easier. After eight grade, they stop going to school and begin working at the farm, because the Amish believes that they don´t need an education. They also believe that working by hand, growing their own food, and not using any machine-driven transport they commune with nature, which is a form of communing with God.
The Amish is believers of hard work, responsibility, simple living, and cooperation among the communities. This could sounds like a very good idea for the society and for the worldwide environmental problems, but I don´t think it is, and it won´t be in the future.
I believe that today almost everybody hear music, use electronic devices or use cars, but I don´t thing we would live in communities like the Amish if we didn´t have stuff like that.
The mankind today is addicted to modern technology, so I don´t think we would sacrifice it all.
The Amish have chosen to live without electricity, cars and so on. They have chosen to live with the community, but it is their decision how they want to live their lives and in a way I do understand them. I´m pretty sure the way they help each other in the community is important for the individual person.
