Escape from Alcatraz

My sister and I panicked a little bit, because we didn’t know what to do next. We hadn’t eaten all day, and we were very thirsty too. We decided to get moving because just sitting there wouldn’t help. The island was very creepy, but we just had to keep moving before it would get dark. Suddenly we saw some tracks of footprints, but it wasn’t human footprints. My sister said, that it probably was a dog or something, that lived on the island, but every person in the world could see that this wasn’t dog footprints, but we continued to follow the tracks. We followed the tracks for hours I think, and it started to get dark. While we walked, we checked the phone, and sometimes we got connection on the phone, but it was only for a few seconds, so it wasn’t possible to get in touch with anyone. Now it was totally dark. I think we had walked for 3 hours, but the tracks kept on going, and so did we. Suddenly the tracks ended just outside a cave. I said to myself that this was just a cave for a fox or something, and that I shouldn’t be afraid, still I was terrified. I was millimetres to shitting my pants to be honest. My sister seemed a little more chilled than me, so she asked, if she should check what was inside, and I gave her my permission. She got into the cave, and I followed behind her. It smelled like something dead was in there, or something rotten had laid there for very long. The cave seemed to be built by humans, as it continued with stairs down under the ground. We walked down the stairs, but suddenly my sister told me to stop and be quit. Something was wrong. She whispered, that she could hear someone talk. I stopped and tried to listen carefully. Quickly I could hear it too. We went all the way down the stairs to see who it was. A man and a woman stood there with their backpack and gears. “Oh finally someone to save us!”, the man said. But my sister explained, that we weren’t there to save them, but we were trapped here, because the boat left us. The woman said that they were in the same position, and that they had been there for almost two days. The man said that they couldn’t find the way out of the cave, because it was so dark down there. I said that maybe we should try to get out, and find someone who could help us. They agreed. But the moment we were about to go, a loud scream sounded. It was something I’ve never heard before, and it was terrifying. It came closer and closer, and suddenly a giant beaver looking thing appeared. It looked at us all, like we had broken into its home. I thought quickly on the sandwich in my backpack. I got it out and held it up in the air. It got the “beavers” attention, so I threw it towards it. Meanwhile I grabbed my sisters hand, and we ran. The woman and man wasn’t that quick, so they got attacked by the beaver, but we didn’t think much about that, because we just wanted to escape. We found the exit and ran to the place, where the boats left us, in hope that someone had returned for us. Luckily a boat was there, and we got away from the island. We never returned ever again.
