My sister and I both simultaneously let out a deep sigh, as we saw the final tourist ship sail away; becoming a tiny speck in the horizon, until it finally completely disappeared. As expected, my sister panicked immediately, she always does, I usually keep my head cool in situations such as these, but in all honesty, I was quite frightened myself; stuck on what used to be an island full of murderers, thieves and god knows what else, pretty terrifying if you ask me!
After calming down, and realizing that we were probably not going to die, we thought about how we were going to get home. Neither of us were in love with the idea of spending the night on “killer island” and waiting for the morning boat, so we tried walking around the island, in what turned out to be a futile attempt to get a signal on our phones. As the likelihood of getting off the island today, slowly decreased, so did our morale. Just as we had been convinced, that our situation could not possibly get any worse, it started pouring rain. My sister slowly ran her hands through her now wet, curly red hair in frustration, as she sobbed: “What are we going to do Adam?” Frankly, I had no clue, but in spite of that, I said some encouraging words, and she calmed down a bit.
