Personal Reflection: Reflect on your use of social media or technology to seek approval or validation from others.
How does this compare to the rating system depicted in "Nosedive"?
Explain how the episode influenced your perspective on social media interactions.
I think nosedive is just an extreme version of the society we live in currently, we subconsciously rank, rate and judge everyone around us based how they present themselves on social media. In both situations but especially in nosedive they only post when they’re doing something fun and admirable, not when they’re rotting in bed on a Sunday and I think we have the same tendency on social media today, if that makes sense.
I think in practice this system actually could be a fair way to “value people”, not like they do it in the episode but instead of your childhood, parents, and financial background effecting what house you live in, what people you are surrounding yourself with, and over all your financial situation.,
And instead, you get judged on how you treat other people seems fair to me. But this point system might be a little overboard.
