Abstract The Second World War has had a great impact on the current global situation. After 1947 the world economy began to show positive signs of improvement, after which the split world slowly came together again. The war-torn countries were stabilized both financially and politically. As a start of a greater cooperation between the countries the OEEC was founded. This became a step in the right direction for a stronger political and financial integration in Western Europe. The Marshall-Plan became the foundation of a closer financial cooperation both within Europe but also across the Atlantic. The task is based on one of the foundational ‘stones’ of the current global community, the Marshall-Plan from 1947. The background and purpose of the Plan itself as well as the impact of the Marshall-Plan on the relationship between USA and post-war Europe is explained through social history methodology and rhetorical analysis.

Indledning
