The Generation gap is something that have always been here and will always be here because we are constantly developing mentally. New trends occur and old trends disappear.
I think the biggest difference between mine and my parents is that, my generation is a more virtual generation. We always have some kind of device on us to be ready to comment on our friends new profile picture. Every teenager has a Facebook and Instagram profile. Ten years ago our parents were introduced to a privilege called a smartphone, which is now considered to be essential to survive. We are portrayed as anti-social and addicted to scrolling and some are but it’s definitely unfair because not everyone is like that. Facebook and messenger is also a way to be social just in a different way. When people of older generations see younger people buried in their phones completely in lack of touch with the outside world I can understand that there are doubting we will bring anything good to the future but we will. This is a very creative generation that’s full of ideas and innovation.
I also think my generation is more self-conscious because of social media. When we display ourselves on the internet, we need to look good for the outside world, if not perfect.
