An earthquake is when the surface of the earth shakes. This is usually due to that the continental plates move. But it may also be because there is land uplift, it often happens in north Scandinavia because the land uplift is big there.
An earthquake can be measured in many ways, but the most ordinary way to do it, which also is the most known, is the Richter scale
A Richter strength on 2 - two which is the lowest, cannot really be measured, and it cannot really be felt. Whereas an earthquake with a Richter strength on 8 - eight means that everything levelled with the ground
In the beginning of 2017 - twothousandandsewenteen there was a small earthquake between England and Western Jutland. The earthquake was measured at 3,9 - Tre, nine on the Richter strength, which means that there are few people who can fell it. In England was there however which were several buildings affected by the earthquake, but there were not large tremors or some damage occurred in Denmark
