Jim Crow was the name of the racial segregating system which was primarily in southern states, between 1877 and the 1960s. Jim Crow were some anti black laws, It was a way of life. Under Jim Crow, African Americans were forced to the status of second class citizens. Jim Crow represented the life of anti black racism. I think we still talk about it, because there is still racism. Even though it is a lot less than it have been, it is still there, and I think that is why we still talk about it.
Rosa Parks was African American, and she refused to give up her seat to a white man in a bus, She was arrested for violating the city’s segregation law, and as a consequence, civil rights movement boycotted the public transport system. One year and a few weeks later, the city's buses were desegregated. She was important because she had an oppinion that she stood up for, and she did something, that a lot of black people were afraid to do.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Georgia in 1929. In the South, where he grew up, segregation was common. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed that it was important to fight for civil rights without the use of violence. From then on, he would lead and participate in nonviolent protests including marches, and in the years from 1960 to 1965, his influence grew.
