A good way to sell a product can be very difficult, you have to target the product at a specific group of people. It is easier to sell a product to someone who has an interest in it and they are also more likely to buy it. For example, if you want to sell something to kids and tweens, maybe the product should be kid friendly and not something for adults. And if you want to sell food, target a place where the people eat the same kind of food and not something totally different from what they are used to or something that is against their culture.
Many big companies have tried and failed to make a new product, targeted at a specific group. An example of a company that has filed in that department is McDonalds. In 2012, they introduced a new item on their menus in Israel. The McFalafel. In theory, it was a good idea. They had targeted the dish in a country where they eat falafel as a standard food and the falafel was popular and it is already sold many places. But many people felt that the falafel did not belong in a big American company like McDonalds witch usually was known for making burgers and typically American food. People in Israel saw the dish as a food that local restaurants and small businesses made. At places in the street, the falafel was made from the bottom, and many people felt it tasted better made by a little local shop rather than being warmed up and served in a place like McDonalds.
