The first text, ”There is a ”Ferguson” near you” is written by Jesse Jackson and published on USA today’s website in 2014. The conflict in this text is that Ferguson protests against missing community development programs. And that is why there are the causes of the racial unrest, as the author points out. We hear about a black male Micheal Brown, who got shot of the Ferguson police, but they had no reason to do that. The only thing that is not normal with Micheal Brown is his skin colour, not like an normally white American. Everybody was talking about this tragedy, but the police man was sure that Micheal Brown had a gun on him, and that was why he shot him and not becuase of his skin colour. But it is legally to have a gun on you in the US. People talked about how it could happen in Ferguson, where there life lots of black people, so why did only Micheal Brown get shot by the police and not all the others.

Text 2 - ”What White People Can Do About the Killing of Black Men in America”

The second text ”What White People Can Do About the Killing of Black Men in America”, also a comment from Paul Raushenbush at the The Huffington Post website in 2014 also. Paul Raushenbush’s focus is more on the possible solutions to the conflicts in the US and in the Baptist’s Church. In text he puts lot emphasis on the conflict between African-American protersters and the following Ferguson shootings. Paul Raushembush uses Ethos, Logos and Pathos to affect the readers. Paul Raushembush uses pathos a little bit in his comment, but he only uses it to make his arguments more valuable. He talks a lot about the victims and that will affect the reader emotions. Paul Raushembush does empathy to the white people in the African-Americans population. So he is against the Ferguson disturbances. Paul Raushembush also uses Ethos in his comment to the population, he has to be reliable to his people, and that is why his uses Ethos. Paul Raushembush uses the chruch and that his known pastor Tony Lee as a way to make the poeple trust him and his draftings, as we see in line 33-34 ” I spoke….”. He also tries to solve the problem of the racial prejudice in the US in his comment. Like he tries to give the porpulation in the US the answer to their problem. And that would the readers like to read about and make a debat about it, and it will also be attracted to a lot of people there, beacuse they look after answers. Just like pathos, logos is used little in the second text. The author uses logic when he gives examples or when he gives the people answer of the conflict. As a reader you get more engaged, because he is creating associaltions and making the model of the society and population.
