For some people are religion a huge part of their life. They let their religion rules their life, and take brutal decisions on behalf of their religion.
In Hinduism there is something called “Suttee” where a dead man’s widow let her burn on her husband’s pyre. I think this is way too much and I don’t understand you want to do it even though your religion says so. It seems crazy to me that you freely want to burn because your husband is dead. This is not just a little thing you do for your religion; it is your whole life.
If people are happy living their life this way it is fine, but unfortunately I also think there is a lot of people who feel forced to do something or live in some way because of their religion. I think it’s wrong if some people think they only have right to live their life out of religious principles.
In some religion there is forced marriage. It means that your parents have to decide whom you are going to marry. Some people probably think it is a good way because then you make sure it is a “good” man. I don’t think it is the right way to do it. It’s fine if you ask your parents for permission, but I think it is wrong if it is entirely your parents’ decision. For me it sound crazy to marry a totally unfamiliar person, and I think you have to find him by yourself and make sure that you love him.
