The construction
The construction began in 1899 when the brothers Samuel and Mott Newhouse bought the property.
The building is built around a skeleton of steel, fronted with limestone and terra cotta, inspired by the French and Italian Renaissance with a Beaux-Arts styling that was popular at the time of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.
The construction finished in 1902, and the offices were ready to conquer.
