Analyse af Ha Jins novelle 'The Bane of the Internet'

When is the last time you wrote a letter to someone and mailed it in the post? Probably a long time ago, because we now have the internet to take care of all that. But sometime the internet can be a curse, if you are trying to start a new life, where you have to adapt to new cultures and norms.

The short story “The Bane of the Internet” Was written by Ha Jin. The story is written as a first narrator, so probably a story about how Ha Jin Han herself and her sister. In the story they are writing back and forward. The sister is in a relationship with a violent guy and Ha Jin tells her to leave him, so she does. But to contain her image she wants to buy a car, because that will show the world and her friends that she is okay, but can’t afford it. So she asks Ha Jin for help. But Hi Jan will not lend her the $10.000. The sister thereafter decides to make an internet website, where she is selling her organs, as long as she still can drive the car. After Ha Jin sees the website, she decides to give her sister the money, but she have to pay them back in less than two years.
