I have chosen to write about section A about social media. I have chosen section A because social media today is used around the world every day. The social media is applied to both bad and good. In my text I’ll focus on the pros and cons of social media, and I’ll compare my opinion to the three texts.

Social media is today used every single day, and that’s why it is a big problem and discussion theme today. I actually think that it is good for especially young people to use the Internet everyday, because we can get useful and important information out of it. I hope that we in the future learn to use social media in an even better way, and that we don’t use it more than we already do.

“Internet addiction even worries Silicon Valley”

The first text tells us about how addictive the Internet and social media are for us. This text is not positive about social media, and it only comes with arguments against the Internet. According to the text, countries like China, Korea and Taiwan have accepted Internet addiction as a genuine psychiatric problem, and therefore were there made treatment centres for those teenagers, whom were considered to have this psychiatric problem. In 2013 America also thought about include “internet use disorder” to the official listing of mental disorders. In the text we read that leaders behind the greatest social media were gathering in San Francisco for a conference about finding a balance in the digital age. We also hear about Jason Russell, a famous filmmaker, he had a psychotic breakdown, because he spends days online with only a little bit of sleep.
