Lauren Matthews is the main character in the book “Girl, Missing” by Sophie McKenzie. The book was first published in 2006, in October. Lauren is a fictional character, she has brown hair, blue eyes and the story is told in her point of view.
Lauran is 14 years old and she lives with her adoptive parents and their son, Rory, in London. She was adopted at the age of three from the unites states. She Just started a new school year and because of an assignment, her new teacher gave her, she started thinking about who she was. Lauren does not know a lot about her life before she was adopted when she was three.
Laurens best friend is James Caldwell, but she calls him Jam. Jam and Lauren are very close friends and at the start of the book there's nothing but friendship in their relationship but Lauren develops feelings for Jam through out the book. Lauren clearly loves him very much and he's very dear to her.
Lauren wanna know who she is and she’s a determined person, but she also asks for help in hard situations when things get out of hand. She has a lot of big expectations and probably ends up disappointed often. She might get a little too caught up in her own hopes and dreams and doesn't realise that her they're unrealistic. After she's gotten older she's grown this big need to know who she is. She's obviously grown up not knowing where she came from, but it wasn't a problem for her as a child. As she's gotten more mature she's become more self-aware and it would be odd if she didn't, but I she feels very lost and goes through a lot to find out who she is. She ends up desperate and a little unstable/out of control.
