The Missing Kids

Pete was getting ready to visit Zoe when his phone rang. Two kids had been reported missing in the mountains. Pete quickly texted Zoe and said that he couldn’t make it, because of the sudden call, and told her that two kids had been reported missing in the mountains, Zoe wasn’t mad but just a bit disappointed, but she is getting used to it, it isn’t the first time a sudden call has spoiled their evening, it is hard dating a police officer.

Pete quickly got into his car and then hurried to the police station to get some information, his boss told him that the kids and their parents went for a hike in the mountains when suddenly the kids where gone, the parents are still in the mountains looking for them but they haven’t gotten any luck yet, Pete and the rest of the police force drives to the mountains and start looking for the kids, it’s been three hours and still nothing not even a footprint, but then Pete finds a piece of cloth and looks for prints but nothing, he goes to the parents and asks if they can confirm that the piece of cloth is from one of the kids clothes, the parents say no, everyone goes home except Pete he wants to stays for another hour or so, he doesn’t find anything but on the way to his car he sees a strange footprint, it isn’t like any of the others it’s a footprint of a small child, Pete looks around but doesn’t see any of the kids or a place they could be, he goes home.
