Danmark og USA: lykke, stress og økonomi

I believe that its a very interesting program with many good explanations why Danes are the happiest people in the world.

No, I do not think we are happier than other countries in the world because a large amount of the population in Denmark have blond hair. I do believe that we are happier because we are less stressed. We don’t work 50 hours a week (as they do in USA) and we don’t have to earn a lot to pay medical bills nor do we have to pay a lot of money to get educated – because its free. We do however pay a lot in taxes, which many people in other countries would never want to. However, maybe that is because they never tried to live in Denmark?

In USA, the average working time for a 22-54 man is 42 hours a week. In addition, they do not have as much vacation as us and earn less. Because they earn less they have to have multiple jobs at the same time to afford a place to live and food to themselves (and their children). I would get stressed if I had to have more than one job and work 42 hours a week just so I could afford food and a small place to live and I think that is stressing many Americans too.
