“Live like a dog, alone” is about a woman called Miriam who has just been picked up by a taxi, after a visit to the hospital. She is talking to the driver who has just said “Now I live like a dog, alone”, and this is the point of the story. They talk together about life, and about how miserable his is. She tries to cheer him up, and are at the same time considering her own life. She is divorced from a man who left her broke for a young actress. Then she got a job and was voted Businesswoman of the year. After a ride through London’s streets they arrive at Miriam’s house and she invites the driver to come in to a cup of coffee.
2) Miriam and the life she lives
Miriam is an extremely caring person who needs to make sure that everybody is happy and satisfied.
It's not only the caring site of her that is a problem. It seems like she is a much stressed person who needs to have everything under control. She has just been to the hospital - which apparently happens quite often – and she don't bother at all. It has just become a part of her life.
