From shoplifting to stabbings. Teenagers are very likely to commit crimes. Not necessarily murders and stabbings, but I could be things just as shoplifting. Let me remind you that shoplifting is still a crime even tho you might say to yourself; “ They won’t even notice if a bag of crisps is missing.” In the UK for example, you will get taken into custody if you get caught shoplifting. After that, you will be taken to court and either be fined or taken to jail if your stolen goods is over 200£. So could you just imagine how tough the penalty for a stabbing must be if you can get taken to jail for shoplifting? Why do we/you even commit crimes? That I would love to know, but unfortunately I do not think that there is a specific answer for this topic. But there is one thing which I am certain. And that is, most of the teenagers/kids who are involved in crime, comes from a bad environment. It could be anything from a bad parent to a weak set of friends. This can trigger some problems in the future for the kids, which can cause their children to take part in a crime. I do not think that all these teenagers who commit crimes are bad people. They have all experienced something harmful in their life, like child abuse or maybe bullying. Our society needs to do something to prevent these kids from partaking in such crimes. If we do not help the children to find a better family or a better set of friends, they will end up like all the others. No future, no one to tell them right and wrong and no one to care for them. This is a very serious topic. Not only because of the teenage criminals but where do you think the convicted adults started. They started as teenagers, therefore we need to stop this terrible circle of violence and the parental betrayal that some of these kids experience in their childhood. I think we should find a more effective way to punish these young criminals instead of sending them to prison. We could punish them by house arrest, military school or by community service. I think this will teach the teens some discipline and for and for most the consequences by partaking in criminal activity. What would you do about the young criminals?
