Jessica Watson sailed around the world at the age of 16.
In 1993 Jessica was born in Australia. Throughout her earlier years Jessica was very shy when she met new people. The school she went to quickly found out that she was dyslexic.
As a child she found interest in her family’s houseboat, and at the age of 12 she was inspired by a phenomenal sailing story.
At 16 Jessica begun with intense training and preparation for her big wish, with believe and maturity she kept on training. Her 7-month long-term voyage made her the youngest teen to complete a 7-month voyage. I even asked her if she wasn’t scared of the wildlife in Australia and the rest of the world, and she replied.
‘’ I’m definitely not scared, I know it’s risky, but I’d rather leave my comfort zone and explore the world, than just be in my comfort zone’’.

Jessica wasn’t only nominated because her voyage, she also had a daily blog followed by millions around the world. On her journey she experiences bad weather, but worse than that her boat almost capsized three times, but luckily, she avoided the pitfalls, and continued her dangerous voyage.
