Ethel Wells' body was discovered on September 14th, and detective John was assigned to investigate her death.
Ethel Wells was a rich elderly lady, who only suffered from a bit of dementia, and her death was unexpected. The staff suspected it was a crime because Ethel’s diamond necklace was nowhere to be seen. Normally it was at her bedside table at night. It wasn't long before detective John and his partner, detective Linda, arrived at the English Retirement Home, where the body had been found. A short and stout man stood outside the large grey building, waiting for the police. The man, Adam, was a care assistant and often looked after Ethel. According to Adam, Ethel had gone to bed on the 13th and was found dead the following morning by another care assistant called Harriet. The detectives walked into Ethel's room and saw her laying on her bed. First, the detectives secured the crime scene, so no one could ruin the evidence on purpose or by accident. The detectives then began searching the area for clues and afterward, they went on to interview everyone in the building. After many hours of investigation, they still hadn’t solved the case. They decided that it was necessary to have an autopsy.
