Hello my name is Emil and I'm 15 years old. I live in New York in a small house with my mother and my two siblings. Sofie is 10 years old, Kasper is 16 and my mother Evy is 48. My father Ole lives 10 minutes away from where I live, so I often visit him when my siblings are annoying and when I just want to be with him.
One week ago I came home from school just like any other day, but something was different. My siblings came crying to me and told me that our grandfather had died. I started crying too and asked my mother what had happened. She told me he had a heart attack. I was in shock and did not know what I would do with myself because I was so sad and it just happened out of nowhere. I went down to the beach and looked at the water, because it reminded me of the good memories i had with my grandfather. I did a lot of things with my grandfather, and spend many hours with him. I often visited him after school to play card games and eat candy. All in all he was the world's best grandpa! ?Life’s tough!? I went home after an hour, and went to bed. The next morning my mom woke me up by coming in and saying that there was breakfast, I got up and went into the living room. It was very quiet at the table, and there was not really anyone who talked. I thought it would be good to sit down and talk about what had happened then, so I asked if they were okay. They all said that they were very sad, but that it was probably good to talk about it. Mom said that we should just think of all the good memories we had with Grandpa, and then we went to school. When I went to school my friend asked me if I was okay, because he could see that I had red eyes. I said I was okay, but my grandfather has died and I was a little upset about it. My friend and I talked about what had happened, and all the good memories I have had with my grandfather.. and then we went into the class again. Now I feel much better since I've been talking to family and friends about what had happened. I've got a picture of him so I can always think of him, and the good memories I have about him. It's good to have friends and family that you can always talk with, about the things that had happened. I think it's important to talk about what has happened to someone that you care about and who can relate to the things that are tough in life. Life is tough sometimes, but you'll have to move on and think about the good instead of focusing on the bad.
