Dead Poet Society The movie Dead Poets Society, is about the big questions in life, self confidence, take a chance and live life like you want it. It takes part in a group of guys’ life, who live on a boarding school and have pressure on their shoulders. Their parents are counting on them to get good grades and have a fine education. For some that is just too big of a pressure, so they decide to do other things than homework. Mr. Keating is the new teacher at the school, and teaches the group English. He doesn't just teach them English, in fact he tells them way more about ways of living life. He has a big impact on the boys’ life, especially the group. One day they find an old book, where Mr. Keating as a young boy is in. He tells the boys about the Dead Poets Society and they want to try it as well. Mr. Keating teaches them about poetry, but has an unusual way of teaching. He doesn’t follow any books, he follows his heart. He gives the boys values they can use in life, but that is just not what the parents or the school want. There are a lot of changes in the movie, and a lot of them is made by Mr. Keating. He changes the whole class, but some more than others. Two boys are both held down by something that does so they can’t be fully themselves. One of them is Neil Perry whose, dad has his whole life planned out for him. He has no hobbies because school is everything for him/his future, but luckily he finds the Dead Poets Society. Later in the movie, he also finds out that he loves acting, but of course his dad wont let him do it., so he must find another way to do it. Unfortunately his dad finds out, and he makes him quit the school and makes a new plan for him. Neil has now lost everything he felt joy with, and can’t stand the pressure. One night he goes down to his dad’s office, finds his gun and shoots himself with it. The other guy is Todd Anderson. He has problems with his confidence, which gives him a lot of trouble. He doesn't associate that well with the other boys, but both Neil and Mr. Keating helps him. One day in class, Keating puts him in front of the class, and helps him make a poem. On that day, Todd got his recognition. Todd goes from the most shy student, to stand up on his table without permission alone, to help Mr. Keating.
