Film review: 'Easy A'

Olive Penderghast feels anonymous in the high school, where she studies. Rhiannon, her best friend, invites Olive to spend the weekend with her family, but Olive don't want to come, so she comes up with an innocent lie, and this is where, it all begins. Olive tells Rhiannon, that she has a date with this (non-existent) college student. After the weekend aka the next Monday, Rhiannon takes Olive to a more private place, to be more exact, the bathroom. Here Rhiannon ask about the ”date”, she wants to know EVERYTHING! Olive lies again, by telling that she lost her virginity in the weekend to her (still non-existent) ”boyfriend”. However, the most annoying student overhears their conversation and spreads the rumour about Olive and her ”boyfriend”. Suddenly Olive isn't that anonymous anymore. Then Olive finds out, that her bullied friend Brandon, is gay. He doesn’t want to be bullied about it, and that’s why Olive suggests him to lie and say to the bullies, that he had slept with a girl. Brandon knows, that it won’t work, he must have proof. Brandon asks Olive to help him, so they pretend to have sex at a party. Then other bullied boys offer to pay Olive to improve their reputations, just like she did with Brandon. All of a sudden, Olive is a girl, you can pay to get sexual favours, like a whore. But not really, they are just rumours, Olive and all the boys haven’t ACTUALLY done anything. There is a lot of drama, and Olive loses her best friend Rhiannon. Olive loses control of the situation. A boy wants to pay her to sleep with him, and not just pretend, but she didn’t want to do that. Olive end up all alone in the dark at a parking spot, and then Todd passes her. Todd, her old love interest. Todd tells her, that he does not believe the rumours, because he remembers, when she lied for him, when he was not ready for his first kiss years ago. She does a song-and-dance number at a school match to get people's attention to watch her via webcast. At the webcast she tells the WHOLE truth. As she is finishing up her webcast, Todd comes by, and we see them happily together. Also, Olive texts Rhiannon, apologizing for lying to her, so they can be friends again.
