Illegal download og streaming: er det fair?

Is it okay that people are downloading illegal, and why are people doing it?

Streaming movies online is something that is gradually becoming more and more common in virtually all people. Unlike the old days, where the only place you could watch movies was in the cinema or on a DVD player and for music you would need a facility with a CD player. But compared to now, that people are basically doing nothing but listening to music on the internet or streaming movies on streaming services.

Personally, I never download music or movies from the web, mostly because I'm afraid my computer will crash, but also because I think it's generally much easier to watch movies and listen to music on streaming services. I think it’s important to remember, that the people who are making the music or producing films need to earn some money. If we are not paying when we listen to music, they are not going to get anything for their hard work. They have a job like anybody else and need to be paid for the work they are doing.

Some of the reasons why people are downloading illegal could maybe be because some people don’t have the money to pay for film and music all the time. Then they only pay for their favourite music. And if you don't have the money, it is very tempting to click and download illegally. I think it’s fair, that we pay for the music that we are listening to and the films we are streaming. After all it is our own choice to watch and listening. I do understand why people doing it, but there does not exist any good reason that makes it okay to download illegally.
