Brev om tyfon, klimaforandringer og bæredygtighed

I have read your letter and I am very sad to hear about the super typhoon that ravaged your home and the whole community. It is hard for me to imagine that your whole community is destroyed. I agree very much in your thoughts especially that western people don’t fully understand how climate changes effect real people today.

I have travelled in 8 countries in Asia and have seen with my own eyes that people live in small and unstable houses. But in Cambodia they build houses on concrete piles that when the flood came in rainy season, their houses would not be flooded. Likewise it will be possible to build houses that stand the forces of nature in the Philippines. I know that it’s not the cheapest way to build houses but it will be a more sustainable solution. Building companies also need to hear your story so they know how to develop houses that suits the new circumstances. I will try to make a fundraising campaign to support your community.

We all here in the western countries need to change living standards. We need to vote on politicians that dares to think differently, than we have been thinking in the last 50 years.
